Vintage Miniature Models
Vintage Miniature models was set up in 2011as the result of an enquiry which lead to me becoming involved in a consulting capacity in a range of N gauge vehicles. Although new to the retail side of things I have been a modeller most of my life learning from my father who was a dab hand with a hobbies no 1 treddle fret saw or "Machine" as he called it. Having worked my way through the Airfix and Revell catalogues I honed my skills winning prizes at various times and being commissioned to build the odd model or two for others I have now decided to start designing and producing my own ranges of models

All our models are designed and produced using State of the art 3D print and Laser Cutting techniques. Our ships and Ship fittings are made using Liquid resin 3D masters and in the case of the fittings themselves 3D Printed using liquid printing resins that elliminate the layering caused by extruded resin or the granular effect of powder resins. Our Building models and other laser cut parts are cut using an air cooled cutter, which means, that scorching of the card parts can be kept to a minimum.
As to the models themselves our kits are by nature generic that is to say they do not represent any particular ship more they are types of vessels in addition our made up models use the same basic parts as in the kits and the higher value versions use crew figures we commissioned and resin Cargo's from the Harburn Hamlet range. Any costs relating to the pre-built models are non refundable and finished models are non returnable
Quite honestly I am not interested in doing commission work for individuals as so often it is a case of people wanting something for nothing. Commercial Commissions will however be considered and therefore must be accompanied by a detailed brief containing photographs drawings and / or a detailed written description of how the customer wishes the final model to look and must include information, particularly in the case of the ships, of any decorative scrollwork, ports of registry, Registration numbering and any colour differences.
Any commission not containing the above information will be charged for a minimum of ten hours research work at £25.00 per hour on top of my standard Build Charges of £30.00 per hour for construction both charges being Non refundable. In addition, commission customers will be charged at retail cost for any additional fittings added to the models on top of the normal fittings included in the kit, finally the finished commission models are non returnable.
